We are currently seeking an Area Plan Lead to develop, own, and manage the 25-year clean water asset plan for the Kent and Hastings region. This will be developed in line with Southern Water's strategic objectives and will feed into future price reviews.
In this role, you will ensure that area plans are optimised using risk-based decision-making within a TOTEX environment, so that investment in our assets meets the needs of our customers, aligns with business goals, and meets regulatory commitments.
You will also be responsible for articulating benefits for both short-term (in AMP) and long-term programs, and for reporting on programme performance to Sponsors and wider teams. You will support the creation of the Programme Execution strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, risk and resilience frameworks, and asset strategies.
Collaborating with various teams across Southern Water, you will ensure decisions are made inline with the decision making frame work and risks and issues are managed. You will also communicate long-term strategic goals and ensure commitment to the shared vision.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in science, asset management, risk management, engineering, or an equivalent field, along with demonstrated asset management and investment planning experience. An understanding of the Water Industry regulatory framework and OFWAT’s business model is essential. Experience in creating long-term investment plans using whole life cost econometrics is crucial. Strong initiative, self-motivation, numeracy, literacy, and communication skills are necessary, as well as a proven ability to collaborate across functions and meet deadlines efficiently.
Experience in embedding change programs, an Asset Management professional qualification, and membership in a risk management/asset management approved body are highly desirable.
