About the job:
As a Surety Underwriter, you will manage and grow a profitable portfolio, underwriting risks in line with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and legislation. You’ll work closely with brokers and customers, manage policies end-to-end, conduct audits, and support policy and procedure updates. Collaboration with other teams to resolve underwriting issues and ensure smooth operations is essential.
You will stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes, contribute to projects and initiatives, and focus on delivering excellent customer outcomes.
Skills and experience required:
* Underwriting Expertise: Experience in underwriting Surety risks, including new business and renewals, with a focus on the UK market.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of UK regulations, controls, contracts, and legislation affecting Surety underwriting.
* Portfolio Management: Ability to manage a profitable Surety portfolio, including end-to-end policy management.
* Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience working with various teams to support Surety offerings and underwriting tasks.
* Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering positive customer outcomes and supporting their objectives.
