Security Supervisor - Manchester
Reporting to: Manchester Site Security Manager
Position: Permanent/Core
Rota Pattern: 6 on 3 off (3 days, 3 nights, 3 off)
Hours: 12 hours per shift
Pay: £15 an hour
Day shifts timings: 07:00 to 19:00
Night shifts timings: 19:00 to 07:00
Qualifications
* Skills for Security trained & certificated
* SIA licensed
* First Aid trained & certificated
* ACT Awareness certified (desirable)
* IT literate
Previous Experience
* Corporate Customer Services background (desirable)
* Ability to use MS Windows and MS Office applications
* A sound understanding of electronic security Access Control & CCTV systems (desirable)

Responsibilities & Specific Tasks
* Protection of Life, Protection of Property, Prevention of Crime, Prevention of Loss and Waste
* Responsible for leading and coordinating the site security team while maintaining a safe and secure environment
* Supervision of security staff to include assigning daily duties, scheduling shifts, and monitoring of service delivery and performance to ensure essential coverage and adherence to security protocols
* Monitoring serviceability of security systems by conducting inspections of surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarm systems and all security equipment to ensure operational readiness
* Incident management: investigating, documenting and reporting security incidents, accidents or security breaches to management
* Training and development: educating security staff on policies, procedures, emergency response and correct use of security technology and equipment
* Access Control: overseeing verification of credentials for employees, visitors and contractors in order to maintain a secure premises
* Risk Assessment: performing security audits and identifying vulnerabilities, while recommending improvements to enhance safety and security standards
* Administrative duties: maintaining detailed and accurate records, preparing reports and attending management meetings to discuss security matters
* Coordination with authorities: acting as a liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
* Develop and maintain first class customer service relations with client staff, all visitors, business partners, key stakeholders, including site security team
* Monitoring of CCTV, Access Control when required and other protective systems, and act as a first line response to activations, faults & incidents
* Maintain knowledge of Site Assignment Instructions and Emergency Procedures and their local implementation
* Document everything: produce timely reports of incidents and alarm activations, check & log reports submitted by the security team whilst taking appropriate action
* Log and transfer calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff
* Manage and control the car parking list, visitor, contractor and temporary staff access passes and keys in line with Corporate Security standards and procedures
* React positively and professionally in support of security operations and emergency situations as required
* Complete site induction training to satisfactory standard, including training modules deemed appropriate by Corporate Security Management
* Complete satisfactory probationary assessment as part of personal training and development plan
Operational Duties
* Maintain a robust high visibility security posture in support of Denial/Detering/Detecting crime
* Maintenance of comprehensive site patrolling program in support of risk identification and prevention
* Application of excellent situational awareness in relation to maintaining a high level of security and safety risk awareness
* Observation and surveillance skills to include risk and threat identification
* Application of security principles and customer engagement to counter risk
* Speedy and accurate reporting of suspicious activity
* Understand guidance and response relating to trespass and protest situations
* Understand risk related to social media attention and relevant guidance
* Act immediately in support of Emergency Response, including coordination with emergency services
* Manage and supervise security officer rotation duties
* Operate mail screening equipment where required
* Maintain communications with client and management in accordance with instructions
* Follow and comply with routine site operating procedures
* Maintain communications with security management and regional operations
* Log and manage lost property and return to owner where possible
