Recovery pathway worker

Offer description

To work collaboratively with service users within the Adult Forensic Services (both individually and in groups) to proactively empower them to pursue their personal recovery pathway and therapeutic goals.

This will be achieved by wayof engaging in relevant, meaningful and sustainable recovery opportunities, accessing community-based resources and regaining a socially inclusive role and lifestyle within the wider community setting.


Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to workover a 7 day period with service users in facilitating and enabling leave to ensure that therapeutic objectives are attained as part of the service users recovery and progress towards discharge.

The post holder will have the necessary skills and competencies in escorting patients and will also plan and report on individual service user leave and provide information and data to monitor use of therapeutic leave across the service.

Person Specification


Education/Qualifications

* o Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a health and/or social care setting


Experience

* Experience working with service users in a health or social care setting. Experience of providing support to vulnerable/socially excluded individuals/groups. Experience of working as part of a team to achieve a shared vision/goal. Experience of maintaining quality standards in one's work


Knowledge

* An understanding of recovery principles and ethos for service users within forensic settings. A basic knowledge of the effects of mental disorder. A practical knowledge of how to maintain professional boundaries. Awareness of impact of mental health stigma. Awareness of anti-discrimination and equality legislation. Awareness of least restrictive practices. An awareness of policies & procedures in relation to lone working, confidentiality, information sharing, and safeguarding.


Skills & Abilities

* Ability to generate enthusiasm and passion in supporting people undertaking various recovery approaches. Ability to assess and adapt to dynamic risks and operate safely at all times. Ability to handle challenging situations and behave in a professional manner. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people including service users, carers, members of the public and other professionals. Ability to engage and empower service users in forensic settings. Ability to use initiative but to consult with others when necessary. Commitment to one's own professional development. Motivated to work towards creating a safe, open & trusting environment. Effective and coherent oral and written communication skills. Effective relational security skills. Effective supervision, meeting and group work skills. IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Internet and e-mails.

£24,937 to £26,598 a yearper annum pro rata
