Job description
Our client, a leading provider of innovative solutions in the mission-critical sector, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Lead for their data centre team in the UK. We are committed to delivering exceptional services to ensure data centres operate efficiently and effectively. This is a permanent role aimed at driving our client's growth in the sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identifying and establishing relationships with key external stakeholders in the client data centre project teams.
* Developing and maintaining technical design standards and providing guidance within internal national technical forums.
* Setting up and maintaining technical capability within the mechanical team and acting as the point of contact for technical design support.
* Conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape; providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
* Collaborating with internal teams, including architecture, engineering, sales, and project management, to ensure cohesive client engagement and project delivery.
* Working with multi-disciplinary project delivery teams to deliver design for clients and managing financial accountability.
* Preparing and presenting regular reports on technical development activities, project health, supplier engagements, and mission-critical technical trends.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field. Chartered status preferred.
* Strong understanding of the data centre technical detailed design requirements.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in developing others and presenting externally at conferences.
* Proven track record of successfully delivering large and complex projects while developing client relationships.
* Established network of contacts within the mission-critical sector.
* Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
