Job overview

· To provide comprehensive administration support to the Dietetic Department in order to assist in the achievement of departmental objectives, to include all dietetic services.


Main duties of the job

* The post holder will work closely with the team, ensuring the delivery of a high quality service. This will require the utilisation of good secretarial, clerical, communication and interpersonal skills.
* The department is a dietetic department and providing a service in a range of settings for both adults and paediatric patients including outpatients at community hospitals across Dorset, diabetes centre, outpatients department, and home visits. In-patients are also seen at DCH and community hospitals.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TR


Essential criteria

* 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths, English & ICT


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE


Essential criteria

* IT skills – use of all Microsoft programmes – Word, Excel, powerpoint


Desirable criteria

* Experience of working with and communicating with people
* Working as part of a team
* Experience of working under pressure and to deadlines
* Experience of working in the NHS
* Able to meet workloads with conflicting deadlines and escalate appropriately to more senior staff.


SKILLS & ABILITIES


Essential criteria

* Experience of hospital IT systems, PAS, DPR, Systm1
* Good time management skills


Desirable criteria

* Excellent verbal communication skills, including being able to deal with people with communication difficulties
* Good written skills/record keeping
* Attention to detail
* Ability to respond positively to change.
* “Can do” attitude.
* Engage in CPD
* An interest in Nutrition and Dietetics
