Senior Building Control Officer (RBI)
As a Senior Building Control Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of our Building Control service through plan assessments, site inspections and liaison with clients. You will assess developments against Building Regulations, associated legislation and local policy, document decisions accurately and issue outcomes in a timely manner.
You will respond to notifications of dangerous and dilapidated structures, ensuring appropriate action is taken. You will help develop and improve the service, implement best practices and innovative solutions, and act as a technical advisor on Building Control matters.
This is a full‑time role, but flexible arrangements, including part‑time work, may be considered.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* An ONC, OND or BTEC in a building‑related subject; or
* A professional qualification by a Chartered Institution (RICS, ABE, CIOB) with a specialism in Building Control; or
* CAS/IPCS Public Service Building Control Surveying Diploma, Level 4, 5 or 6; or
* At least three years of experience within a Building Regulations environment.
* A validated Building Safety Regulator Class 2 (A–F) Domestic Registered Building Inspector.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
* A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits across the city.
