What you’ll be doing
* Taking ownership of ground engineering design from feasibility through to detailed design and delivery
* Developing and reviewing geotechnical parameters, ground models, and investigation strategies
* Producing desk studies, interpretive reports, and technical assessments
* Addressing design risks including soft ground, slope stability, and mining legacy issues
* Designing foundations, retaining structures, soil nails, earthworks, and more
* Representing BakerHicks in client meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary collaboration
* Supporting and mentoring junior engineers as part of a growing team
What you’ll bring
* A degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or engineering geology (or equivalent)
* Experience working on ground engineering projects within the UK
* Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design tools (GEO5 experience is a plus)
* Understanding of ground investigation processes and risk management
* Excellent communication and report writing skills
* Progress toward chartership with ICE, GeolSoc, or equivalent (MSc or PhD desirable)
* A full UK driving licence and readiness to travel to sites when needed
