Job Overview
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and autonomous Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our well-established Discharge to Assess (D2A) pathway 2 Service. Following successful service development, we are developing our D2A pathway 2 service, giving you the opportunity to help develop and implement high-quality care pathways and MDT training plans. You will actively contribute to building a culture of research and development, with strong links to our local community and a focus on improving bed-based services.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a transformative and innovative way with the autonomy to shape the future of D2A within North Staffs. Working in co-production with service users and local D2A networks, the overall aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of the population served.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
We offer excellent support through CPD routes and robust learning plans within the four pillars of AHP practice, providing opportunities to represent and promote our service locally, regionally, and nationally. Our service is transformational, requiring the post holder to have NHS experience and confidence to support the development of our service model. The community role requires access to a vehicle, a UK driving licence, and the ability to work across a wide geographical area.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* Registration with HCPC
* Evidence of postgraduate CPD in at least 2 relevant areas
Desirable criteria
* Modules at Masters level
* Further clinical study in D2A, adults, or rehabilitation
* Falls training & assessments
* Mental capacity training
* Member of RCOT
* Member of relevant clinical interest group
Experience
Essential criteria
* Relevant experience in specialties like neurology, orthopaedics, older people's rehabilitation, falls management, respiratory care, musculoskeletal conditions within the clinical specialty
Desirable criteria
* Experience in risk management, including risk assessment, action planning & evaluation
