About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Burnley. This is a full-time, term-time-only role ideal for someone passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent 1:1 support for a child with ASD in the classroom
* Implement personalised learning strategies and support plans
* Adapt tasks and resources to meet the child’s individual needs
* Support communication, emotional regulation and social interaction
* Assist during transitions, breaktimes and lunchtimes
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
* Help create a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD experience desirable)
* A patient, caring and positive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to use initiative and follow guidance
* Reliable, proactive and committed to children's wellbeing
Essential Requirements
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
* Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
* Willingness to complete relevant training and safeguarding checks

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
