Data Software Developer

About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Data Software Developer to join our fast-paced, technology-rich team. You will be responsible for the core infrastructure and services powering our data ecosystem, contributing to business-critical platforms that include Kafka, Spanner, and BigQuery.
This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home while being part of a collaborative office environment in Stoke or Manchester. Your work will span real-time data processing, Cloud database management, data integration, database release automation, and the delivery of custom data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain applications using Java, Go, Python, Kafka, GCP, SQL, and other industry-standard technologies.
Support applications through the full Kafka lifecycle from design to implementation.
Maintain clean coding standards and develop automation and developer tooling.
Identify technical areas of improvement and contribute to data streaming solutions.
Conduct functional and performance testing, ensuring code quality and system performance.
Collaborate with testing and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proficient in at least one high-level language (Python, Java, Go) and eager to learn new languages/concepts.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
Exposure to high-volume transaction environments.
Experience developing low-latency, highly available, and scalable solutions.
Knowledge of dashboards and monitoring best practices.
Strong problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills.
Experience with Linux and cloud-based platforms.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
