The Contracts Manager will play a key role in managing and delivering civil engineering and earthworks projects from tender through to completion, ensuring cost efficiency and operational excellence. Currently a £2 million turnover company, they are targeting growth to £10 million turnover, working on projects ranging from £1 million to £5 million in size. Contracts Manager Job Overview
Support tender management processes, including site visits, project scoping, and working with plans and construction details.
Oversee the costing and performance of contracts, identifying cost-reduction solutions and ensuring profitability.
Manage contracts across the civil engineering and earthworks sectors, delivering projects on time, on budget, and to high-quality standards.
Collaborate with the safety department to ensure risks are thoroughly assessed and controlled across all projects.
Monitor and report on contract performance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with client requirements.
Liaise with the company's sister mobile contracting business to deliver integrated project solutions where required.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing the business with professionalism and commercial awareness.
Play a key role in supporting the business's growth strategy, expanding operations to achieve a £10 million turnover.
Contracts Manager Job Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or extensive experience in the civil engineering sector.
Proven experience in managing civil engineering, groundworks, and bulk earthworks projects.
Strong experience in tendering, cost management, and contract negotiation.
Competent in transferring information from plans to spreadsheets for costing and analysis.
Strong commercial skills with experience in client interaction and delivering profitable projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, LSS, and other 3D modelling systems.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
