Digital Account Director
We’re looking for an experienced Account Director – Digital Sales to join our growing Digital Sales team. Reporting into the Head of Sales, you will drive revenue and margin growth by managing and expanding a portfolio of several customers.
This includes identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling digital products, nurturing client relationships, and securing new business. The opportunity requires strategic account management, structured business review meetings, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver tailored technology solutions.

The Role:
* Join Chess as an Account Director, responsible for driving growth across our digital portfolio by managing and expanding relationships with several existing customers, while acquiring new business.
* Accountable for exceeding revenue and margin targets by selling digital products and services to new and existing Chess accounts. Maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement and structured business review meetings. Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities via white space mapping and digital assessments.
* Create strategic account development plans including technology roadmaps to drive year-on-year growth and increase product penetration. Prospect and convert new logo customers, positioning Chess as a trusted long-term technology partner.
* Collaborate with consultants and fellow account managers to qualify leads and support cross-sales into ICT accounts. Lead discovery sessions, service reviews, and tender responses aligned with customer needs. Stay informed on Chess’s Microsoft competencies and communicate their value to clients.
* Work closely with product and delivery teams to ensure smooth implementation and maintain client satisfaction.
The Candidate:
* Excellent Microsoft expertise and experience of selling Microsoft based solutions such as SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot, Azure for both professional and managed services.
* Familiarity with AI solutions and how to introduce the benefits of adoption is highly preferable.
* Proven experience of working and coordinating with both Public Sector & Enterprise customers.
* Experience in assembling tailored presentations for each vertical, and skilled in presenting face-to-face or virtual audience.
* Comfortable utilising LinkedIn to navigate organisation mapping to answer questions around their organisations, digital portfolio by targeting specific job titles - C-Suite etc.
* Familiarity with IT contract negotiations.
* Confident in presenting to C-suite stakeholders.
* Solid understanding of Digital Technology and its impact on business and applications.
* Good understanding of industry specific business issues and drivers.
* Experience in proposal/RFP creation and leading RFP/proposal presentations.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Salary details: Up to £60,000, dependent on experience (OTE – uncapped commission plan)

Hours: A standard week is 37½ Monday to Friday

Working location: Hybrid working position
Allowing you to enjoy the flexibility of working from home whilst also having the option to work from one of our many local hubs spread throughout the UK. Ad-hoc travel to offices within the group and other locations may be required on occasion.
