As part of our continued growth and transformation, NP Aerospace is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior PMO Manager to establish and lead a centralised PMO function. This pivotal role will oversee a portfolio of complex defence programmes, mentor a team of Project Managers, and drive governance, reporting, and delivery excellence across the business. You will be instrumental in embedding our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) gateway processes, ensuring alignment with MOD and defence industry standards, and enabling executive decision‑making through robust reporting and analytics. Based in Coventry, this role will require regular customer and stakeholder engagement both in the UK and internationally. What you’ll be doing
* Establish and lead a group-wide PMO structure, standardising project management practices across the organisation.
* Mentor, support, and develop Project Managers, building a high‑performing PMO function.
* Own and manage PLM gateway processes, ensuring seamless transitions across sales, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and finance.
* Drive portfolio oversight including project health, risks, milestones, and resource planning.
* Deliver executive‑level reporting and dashboards, enabling data‑driven decisions.
* Champion ERP integration and best practices in project reporting.
* Support bids and proposals with governance input and planning.
* Act as the central point of contact for programme governance and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
Minimum requirements
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a PMO leadership role within defence or manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of PLM systems, gateway reviews, and MOD procurement processes.
* Experience driving governance and performance in high‑value programme environments.
* Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Primavera P6, ERP systems) and reporting dashboards (e.g. Power BI).
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (Master’s or professional certification preferred).
* Recognised project/programme management qualifications (APM, MSP, PRINCE2, PMI or equivalent).
* Familiarity with composite materials, vehicle systems, or survivability engineering is advantageous.
