We're looking for a talented relationship manager to help us build stronger, more strategic partnerships to advance the University's health and wellbeing research and innovation ambitions. This is a brand-new role designed to enhance the way we collaborate—making our partnerships more seamless, valuable, and purpose-driven. You'll play a key role in shaping a more intentional approach to how we leverage our strengths, working with academics and wider colleagues to support the transition to a more formalised outcomes-driven partnerships model. This is an exciting and fulfilling role, offering a unique opportunity to shape how we work with others to deliver lasting impact. If you're passionate about partnerships, influence, healthcare and innovation we'd love to hear from you. This role is internally known as Partnership Manager. For informal discussions, please contact: Stephanie Bagworth, Associate Director (Philanthropy) or Professor Fiona Gillison. Stage 1 interviews will be held remotely on Thursday, 9th October. Final interviews will take place in person on Wednesday, 15th October.
Your focus will be on
* Partnership development and innovation — expanding, strengthening and maintaining our relationships with healthcare organisations including those in our region: BSW Hospitals Group (the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, the Royal United Hospital in Bath) and BSW Integrated Care Board.
* Delivering excellent service — acting as a two-way conduit: the central point of contact for partners, helping them navigate the university and access the right people and resources, and vice versa for our academic community to connect with partners.
* Defining what excellent partnership working looks like — helping us build a blueprint for stronger intent and growth in this area. This involves spotting innovation and commercial opportunities to develop value and income-generating relationships. Building and managing an academic network to unlock collaborative opportunities and shared value. Supporting/coaching academics to build confidence in working with external partners.
* A connector and relationship builder who thrives in complexity — internally and externally.
* A strategic thinker and influencer who brings clarity, energy, resilience and momentum to partnership work.
