Nursing Assistant (Integrated Sexual Health)

We are looking to recruit a Band 3 Nursing Assistant to join the Integrated Sexual Health Team. This is a substantive post, part time, 22.5 hours per week.
Working under the supervision of qualified Nursing and Medical Staff the post holder will carry out a number of duties to enable the effective running of clinics. This will include a clinical and non-clinical tasks such as chaperoning patients during examinations and procedures, undertaking asymptomatic screening, ordering clinical supplies and entering data.
Previous experience working in sexual health would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Main duties of the job
To work as a support to the multidisciplinary team providing efficient and effective support to the integrated sexual health service, including schools, colleges and pharmacies across the geography of NHCT.
To provide efficient clinical, administrative and health promotion support to meet the requirements of the service.
To establish and maintain data collection and statistical data for monthly reports and funding providers.

To assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality direct and indirect patient care

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education to GCSE standard
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Healthcare
* Working towards a diploma or first degree
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a clinical setting and assisting at procedures
* Recent learning or willingness to learn to meet key duties
* Understanding of relevant policies and guidelines including confidentiality, safeguarding and record keeping
* Screening Programme and to support the asymptomatic screening service
* Previous sexual health experience
* Ability to undertake venepuncture, pregnancy testing, Chlamydia testing, urinalysis and recording vital signs
Other Requirements
* It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role
