Electrical Control Design Engineer

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a EC&I Design Engineer for a permanent position in St Helens (hybrid). This role is within highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation.
Role
This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, based at a control panel manufacturing facility in Haydock with hybrid working options. As an EC&I Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical control panels and related systems.
Main Responsibilities
You will manage and complete EC&I engineering and design projects, support construction during manufacturing, and handle change control. You need to understand customer requirements and translate them into engineering solutions. You will liaise with clients, manage project scope expectations, and oversee engineering estimates, costs, progress, scope changes, and man hours.
Experience & Qualifications
* BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience.
* 5-10 years of professional engineering design/technical experience.
* Experience with AutoCAD, Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical, and familiarity with AMTECH.
* Knowledge in developing, testing, and evaluating engineering designs.
* Ability to meet UK security clearance criteria.
Advantageous Knowledge: Low Voltage switchgear design, control/automation systems, motor control centres, variable drive systems.
