Position: Electrical Commissioning Engineer (HV/LV) Contract: 12 months potentially ongoing – Hourly PAYE rate Location: On site – Flexible working hours We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to take technical ownership of HV and LV electrical systems. This is a hands-on, senior role where you will lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring safe energisation and seamless integration into live operations. As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will: Develop and execute commissioning plans for HV and LV systems. Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Provide technical guidance to electrical teams and technicians. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical queries. Ensure all electrical works are completed safely and in line with industry standards. Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and red-line work packs. Execute and uphold Authority to Commission processes. The ideal Electrical Commissioning Engineer will have: Proven experience with HV switchgear, transformers, protection & control systems, and VSDs. Strong background in industrial environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industry). Knowledge of 11kV and 415V distribution, BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, and hazardous area protection. Excellent coordination and communication skills. Ability to work independently and lead commissioning teams. Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering or extensive commissioning experience.
