Remote (UK-based preferred) | Commission-Based (9%) | Part-Time, Freelance
Organisation: Casual Ballerz CIC | Based in London
Funding Goal: £100,000 by March 2026
About Us
Casual Ballerz CIC is a youth-led social enterprise using sport, mentorship, and creative programming to change the lives of underserved young people across London. We exist to break cycles of inequality and provide real opportunities for development through employment, mental health support, leadership training, and safe community spaces.
We’re now building a committed funding team to change this. That starts with finding a grant writer who’s hungry, skilled, and ready to help us unlock the resources our community deserves.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and results-driven Grant Writer to join our team and help us raise at least £100,000 in the next 12 months.
This is a commission-only role to begin with, with genuine room for progression into salaried roles. Writers will receive 7% commission on all successfully awarded grants they lead or contribute to. While we cannot yet offer salaried roles, the commissions are immediate upon successful award and the impact is lasting.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in grassroots environments, wants meaningful work, and is highly self-motivated.
Your Responsibilities
Independently source and research relevant grant and funding opportunities (UK-wide and local)
Write tailored, compelling proposals that align with funders’ objectives and our mission
Collaborate with our Founder and delivery teams to gather supporting data and insights
Contribute to joint grant applications with other writers when required
Join weekly Funding Team meetings (Mondays at 8 PM) and Staff Meetings (Sundays at 8 PM) via Zoom
Maintain clear communication and work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has a proven track record of winning grants, particularly in the youth, community, or sports sectors
Is self-motivated, organised, and proactive – able to work without supervision
Brings excellent writing, editing, and persuasive communication skills
Understands the power of storytelling, data, and impact
Can contribute to both small solo applications and larger team bids
Is comfortable in a grassroots, growing CIC environment
Wants to make a real difference to young people’s futures
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with funders like: Sport England, National Lottery, Trust for London, BBC Children in Need, London Community Foundation, etc.
Understanding of youth-led social enterprise, mental health programs, or employment pathways
Experience preparing impact reports or evaluations for funders
What You Get:
9% commission on all successful grant awards you write or contribute to
Flexible, remote working hours
Weekly team support, collaboration, and idea sharing
The chance to build something meaningful, from the ground up
Direct impact – every grant won helps fund jobs, safe spaces, and opportunities for real lives
