Join SSEN Transmission as a Site Supervisor to support the delivery of complex new substation projects as part of the Argyll and Kintyre 275kV Strategy.
Base Location: This is a site-based role and you will be required on site 5 days in Argyll.
Salary: £43,704 - £51,484 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Site Based at Crossaig, Argyll.
The Role
SSEN Transmission’s Argyll Team is looking for a motivated and proactive Site Supervisor experienced in the principles of construction and commissioning of major transmission overhead line works, substations, and/or underground cables, ensuring strict adherence to the highest health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
You Will
* Represent the SSEN Transmission business on-site as a key site-based point of contact, ensuring the suppliers carry out works in accordance with contractual requirements and SSEN policies and procedures.
* Ensure the project is executed in accordance with relevant requirements, particularly relating to statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, quality & technical compliance, personnel and industrial relations.
* Work closely with the appointed contractor(s) and the Operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
* Act as a leader on site and champion for a positive safety culture.
You Have
* A solid understanding of engineering and construction practices, including site safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
* Proven experience in site supervision or construction on complex infrastructure or utilities projects; experience in access works is an advantage.
* Knowledge of project planning, with experience in monitoring progress against plans and implementing inspection and test plans to ensure quality.
* Confidence using computer systems, particularly common software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to track site progress and issues, and effectively represent the project team internally and externally.
Please note, a full current driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
