Department: Chief Operating Office
Contract: 12 month fixed‑term contract
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Location: Home‑based (occasionally travel to Cancer Research UK sites across the UK; travel expenses will be reimbursed)

Responsibilities
* Collaborate with HR Business Partners to deliver Cancer Research UK’s people strategy alongside new Trading Strategy changes.
* Support HR Business Partners and HR Managers in coordinating stakeholders and ensuring change processes are delivered on time and at the required standard.
* Collaborate with leadership and employees to address concerns and gather feedback.
* Provide expert advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures, particularly regarding managing change.
* Support the resolution of queries before, during, and after consultation.
* Develop and present materials and communications required by leaders of the people change programme.
* Maintain Workday data and reports to support the change programme, ensuring data integrity.
* Collaborate with HR Business Partners and HR Managers to review, iterate, or improve guidance, processes, or training for line managers.
* Develop clear change project plans covering deliverables, milestones, owners, risks, issues, and mitigations.
What skills will I need?
* Experienced HR professional with a background in advising on HR policies, employment law, and people‑focused change in a large organisation (3,000+ headcount).
* Knowledge and application of UK employment law and HR policies, principles, procedures, and best practices related to people change and consultation.
* Highly organised with ability to set and meet demanding deadlines, coordinate multiple deliverables, and hold others accountable.
* Good attention to detail with a proactive approach to flagging risks early and solving problems.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and management with demonstrable interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Proficiency in HR software and tools.
* Able to work remotely and occasionally travel to Cancer Research UK sites across the UK.
* Either immediately available or on one month’s notice or less.
