Role Overview
EKFB is a joint venture comprising Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall, bringing specialist expertise in railway construction and operation. We are seeking a Site Engineer to support our high‑speed rail project in the Aylesbury area, delivering quality works on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
* Allocate labour, plant and materials in liaison with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to meet programme and budget targets.
* Coordinate the setting‑out team and supervise the performance and development of junior engineers.
* Identify and resolve technical problems on site in collaboration with senior staff and the Sub‑Agent.
* Oversee subcontractors, ensuring contractual requirements are met and manage quality and safety performance.
* Assist in producing programmes, progress reports, resource plans, cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.
Qualifications
* HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering) or equivalent; working towards ICE membership.
* Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
* Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage is essential.
* Full driving licence required; vehicle access necessary for remote site locations.
* Competency: CSCS White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced; Black – Manager; Gold – Supervisor.

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. Our scope includes 15 viaducts, 5km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 67 overbridges and approximately 30 million cubic metres of excavation.
