Seven Criminal Justice are seeking an experienced and dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team in Wigan. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care and support to individuals struggling with substance misuse.
Responsibilities:
1. Assessing and diagnosing individuals suffering from substance misuse and co-occurring disorders.
2. Developing and implementing personalised care plans aimed at achieving recovery goals.
3. Providing harm reduction advice and health education.
4. Administering and monitoring medication as per prescriptions and protocols.
5. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure well-rounded care.
6. Maintaining accurate records of treatment and progress.
7. Offering support, empathy, and motivation.
8. Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
1. Must possess a valid NMC registration (RGN/RMN).
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role, within substance misuse or mental health settings.
3. Ability to make critical decisions, prioritise workload and work under pressure.
4. An excellent understanding of the needs and treatments for those suffering from substance misuse.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Self-motivated with the dedication to continually improve services.
7. Working knowledge of safeguarding adults policy and procedures.
