We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our medical team at HMP Wakefield, a category A prison in Wakefield. A team of 6, consisting of ANPs and GPs.

About The Role

This role is to support the Physical health side. Lots of opportunities for training and scope to move into other areas, parking, on-site gym.

Hours

37.5 hours a week, 8-6pm, covering 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £66,792 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners
  • You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
  • Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

Qualifications required

  • Registered Nurse – Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • Experience around creating new initiatives and innovation
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance
