Reporting to: Maintenance & Installations Manager
Job Purpose: To ensure the effective maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems across the properties, contributing to the smooth operation and safety of the estate.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and generators.
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
* Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates optimally and lasts longer.
* Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimise downtime.
* Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and installations with contractors and external service providers.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs.
* Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
* Assist in planning and executing projects such as equipment upgrades and system enhancements.
* Provide technical support and guidance to other staff members as needed.
* Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.
Knowledge and Skills
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (e.g., ONC or BTEC Level 3).
* Suitable multi-skilled apprenticeship.
* Proven experience in a mechanical/electrical role, ideally in facilities management or an estate environment.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
* Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical/electrical issues.
* Ability to perform preventive maintenance and manage multiple tasks.
