This role will manage planning and implementing residents' activities, help the lifestyles Manager organize essential events, and support residents in socializing more effectively. You’ll develop new activity ideas based on residents’ hobbies or involve the care home team, always with kindness.
We are looking for someone with experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally developing activity programmes, with creativity, a love for music, and confidence to run group and 1-1 activities such as art, knitting, storytelling, bingo, sports, and musical activities.
Beyond that, it’s about your positive energy and natural ability to connect with people. You’ll have good planning, organizational, IT, and basic photography skills, and be able to manage your time well. When communicating with residents or colleagues, you'll be considerate and kind.
What you will be doing:
* Support residents to live life to the fullest.
* Empower and encourage residents.
* Assist residents with their lifestyle choices.
* Understand residents’ needs and preferences.
* Arrange and facilitate a range of activities.
* Assist residents on weekly trips.
* Run group and 1-1 activities.
* Support the creation of new activities and activity packs.
* Set up for events and talks.
What you need to succeed:
* Experience working with people in a person-centered way.
* Willingness to learn and obtain relevant S/NVQ qualifications if not already possessed.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* The ability to work under pressure and with diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to handle practical activity tasks effectively.
