Job Title: Laboratory Technician Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Job Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to join a growing and innovative Research & Development team based in Midsomer Norton. The successful candidate will support the development of new products within the Industrial Inkjet sector, while contributing to testing, compliance, and technical support processes. This is an ideal role for someone with a background in formulation or laboratory work, who is looking to grow their career in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development of new products for the Industrial Inkjet market in line with strategic goals Conduct formulation work on new and existing products Perform application testing, maintain laboratory equipment, and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) Manage day-to-day laboratory tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges using scientific knowledge Communicate project updates to internal teams and stakeholders Collaborate with internal and external customers to support product implementation Ensure compliance with internal product and safety standards Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D department Required Qualifications & Experience: Practical experience working in a formulation or scientific laboratory environment, ideally with aqueous systems Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades AC / 4), including science subjects A Levels in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related discipline (a science-related degree is desirable but not essential) Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Self-motivated, responsible, and receptive to feedback A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and develop Benefits: Company pension scheme 26 days holiday (increasing with length of service) Cycle to Work scheme Flexible working arrangements Ongoing training and development opportunities Access to retail discounts and employee savings programs
