The Role
As a Graduate Stealth Scientist, you will contribute to the development of advanced materials and technologies that enhance acoustic stealth capabilities in defence and security applications.
Day-to-day, you’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to model, test and analyse materials performance in acoustic environments, supporting the delivery of research and development projects from concept through to reporting and customer engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Deliver high quality data analysis and interpretation to support project and customer outcomes
2. Develop and apply modelling techniques to assess acoustic performance of materials
3. Plan and execute experimental trials including materials characterisation and testing
4. Support project delivery to schedule, cost and quality requirements
5. Produce technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
6. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Essential experience of the Graduate Stealth Scientist:
7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to interpret complex data
8. Experience with modelling or simulation tools such as MATLAB or similar
9. Understanding of acoustic physics, wave propagation or materials science principles
10. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary technical teams
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical reporting
12. Good organisation and time management skills with ability to manage tasks effectively
Essential qualifications for the Graduate Stealth Scientist:
13. Degree in Physics, Applied Physics or closely related discipline
14. Demonstrated application of theoretical physics to practical or project-based work

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
