PART TIME HotelServices Assistant Housekeeper Woking Hospital
Hours of Work: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7am - 3pm. You must be able to work all of these shifts as specified.
We are looking for a part time housekeeper to join our busy team at Woking Community Hospital. The housekeepers are responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment in ward, department, office and communal areas. When working on the ward you will also support food and beverage services for the patients.
You must be reliable, enthusiastic and committed to cleaning to a high standard. There may be the opportunity to work additional hours if desired, when cover is required.
Previous experience of cleaning and use of cleaning chemicals is desirable. Basic literacy, numeracy and computer skills are essential. Candidates must possess Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or work towards the successful completion of it as part of training.

Job responsibilities
* To provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and co-owners in an efficient and timely manner. Duties will include:
* Vacuuming, mopping, buffing floors and clearing spillages.
* Damp dusting fixtures, fittings, ledges and furniture.
* High dusting.
* Clean sinks, baths, showers, w.c.s and fittings including dispensers & replenish supplies.
* Undertake legionella flushing as required and record.
* Empty waste bins, clean and replenish sacks. Ensure clinical waste is appropriately tagged.
* Spot clean internal glass.
* Routine curtain changing or following infection.
* Clean telephones.
* Setting dining tables and assist with patient meal service. Carry out ward beverage rounds throughout the day, and serve snacks.
* Clearing and washing up following meal service. Ensure waste food is disposed of appropriately.
* Clean kitchen including dishwasher and fridges. Check food is covered and dated; ensure stock rotation of ward provisions.
* Completion of cleaning check lists daily.
* Clean housekeeping cupboard and equipment daily and store in a safe manner. Store chemicals securely when not in use. Report any faults to the Supervisor. Launder mops daily.
* Liaise with ward manager to identify any additional cleans e.g. on patient discharge or isolation rooms.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Evidence of good basic education in literacy and basic numeric skills.
* To be working towards Food Safety Certificate Foundation/Level 2.
* NVQ Level 1/2/3 in Cleaning or equivalent.
Experience
* Knowledge of various cleaning tasks including floor maintenance.
* Knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control, including National colour coding systems.
* Understanding of safe use of cleaning chemicals. Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
* Experience of cleaning processes.
* Previous experience of cleaning within a healthcare environment.
