We are looking for a skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a recently awarded BBSRC Engineering Biology Mission Award. The aim of the project is to engineer Escherichia coli strains to express different high-value inner membrane proteins and determine the best expression conditions for maximal yield and quality of target proteins.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in membrane biology and/or membrane protein production. The techniques involved will mainly focus on protein and lipid biochemistry e.g., SDS-PAGE, western blotting, thin layer chromatography and analysis of mass spectrometry data. An ability to learn new techniques quickly is highly desirable and full training will be given as needed.
The post is available fixed term to 13 February 2026 with the possibility of an extension to 29 June 2026.
