Job Overview A highly skilled and experienced medical Practitioner currently working as a Consultant or SAS doctor ideally currently delivering care in an Emergency Department. Required to work across the organisation working with all specialities, primary care, community services and the third sector providing advice and support about Emergency Medicine Instrumental in co-designing new clinical pathways using quality improvement principles. Focused on developing effective governance structures, audit processes using evidence-based practice, policies and guidelines. All clinical staff are accountable and responsible for their own clinical competence and should limit their actions to those for which they are deemed competent. Clinical staff are also required to comply with the requirements of their professional organisation regarding supervision. As a senior employee of the Health Board the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board’s patients. Main duties of the job The individual will champion and foster a continuous improvement culture in every aspect of their work. They will respond to all communication forms within reasonable timescales and in a professional manner and respond to tasks and actions allocated in a professional and timely manner. The individual will make oneself available to a reasonable degree and to actively participate in meetings necessary for the delivery of Emergency Medicine and to the TUEC programme. Will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to deliver sustainable key improvements, improved patient outcomes and access to urgent and emergency care for our population. Ensure that this is in line with the overall strategy of the University Health Board and have clear governance arrangements. Will need to be working with colleagues to identify areas and opportunities for investigation; leading on projects to assess value; and suggesting approaches for delivering value-based change. Must deliver the duties and manage the responsibilities of this job description with the utmost professionalism, managing all tasks and work to time and quality expectations and where appropriate within agreed cost limits; ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed of progress and issues arising.
