Purpose of the role
To optimize and address Barclays' 3rd party spend requirements, including defining, developing, and implementing approaches for relevant spend categories, in close collaboration with the business, and executing strategic sourcing and channel development/optimization.
Accountabilities
1. Profile spend in the category area, understand business strategy, requirements, cost levers, and opportunities. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop RFPs, and align sourcing activities with bank priorities.
2. Plan and execute sourcing events, including RFP/RFXs, and negotiate to meet business requirements for value, speed, compliance, and risk.
3. Monitor controls and compliance throughout the sourcing cycle, including regulatory engagement, audits, and data quality.
4. Develop, implement, and operate policies and procedures for sourcing aligned with standards and regulations.
5. Identify and deliver process improvements, including channel optimization for relevant spend categories.
6. Stay informed on industry trends through conferences, training, and market research.
