WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As Mechatronics Engineer you will be responsible to develop, implement and improve processes in operations that reduce labourcost and automate processes to improve Safety, Quality and Delivery. Use the best manufacturing methods and technology to ensure any product produced are created in an efficient and cost-effective manner while complying with health and safety procedures and quality standards. To provide day to day second level technical support for existing equipment.

The Mechatronics Engineer will have a direct impact on our Manufacturing group, responsible for:

1. Specify and design automated assembly and test equipment

2. Integration of electro / mechanical automation equipment into existing production lines

3. Mechanical design and build of custom jigs and fixtures

4. Setup, programming and validation of production automation equipment

5. Design for Assembly automation recommendations

6. Continuous improvement of production assembly equipment

7. Developing design documents for mechanical parts and final products

8. Selecting the required tools and materials for the manufacturing process

9. Attending workshops, training sessions, and conferences to network with others and stay on top of field advancements

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications and Requirements

10. BEng in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent qualification in mechanical or electronic engineering

11. 2+ years in production line automation development within a manufacturing environment

12. Strong mathematical, analytical, and creative thinking skills

13. Kaizen / CI experience

14. Programming and debugging of robotic controls

15. PLC and automation controls an advantage

16. Ability to work in a team or alone with good communication skills

17. Excellent IT skills with MS Office tools and PC sub-systems

18. Solidworks Mechanical CAD experience

19. Mechanical fitting and assembly experience

20. Self-starter with a passion for Engineering

21. Understanding of quality processes, error proofing and continuous improvement techniques

22. Pneumatics control automation
