Our client is a premium drinks business with an enviable range of award-winning spirits brands. This business continues to drive incredible success through delivering exceptional products to discerning consumers. NPD development and refinement are a core part of their approach, from packaging to POS, they strive for the best materials to deliver & enhance their liquids.
The successful candidate will manage the timely and cost-effective delivery of all packaging and materials for all products. With strong project management skills and a solid understanding of the drinks industry, you will work efficiently across all sites of the business, proactively identifying and managing NPD impacts and interdependencies, encompassing the development category on new products. Additionally, you will explore potential opportunities to source and work with local craftsmen to create products for distilleries, such as branded merchandise (for both online and retail shops)
Main Duties Include:
* Project planning and execution: Develop comprehensive project plans for new product development
* Create and deliver a clear timeline for each project, including key decisions, top-line
* timings and details such as design & packaging scope, pricing, value, volume, cost of goods and distribution.
* Cross-functional collaboration: Working alongside the in-house project manager teams to ensure seamless execution of all procurement and NPD projects
* Maintain clear and trusted relationships, working collaboratively with suppliers
* and across the business with key stakeholders across all our sites.
* Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with financial targets.
* Manage product testing and quality processes
* Ensure all new products comply with relevant industry and market-specific regulations and standards.
* Post-Launch evaluation: Conduct post-launch evaluations to assess product performance and identify areas for improvement.
Key skill requirements
• Solid understanding of Supply Chain and Operations.
• Experience in logistics planning, label compliance, Incoterms and a thorough understanding
of the movement of goods internationally. A strong track record in category innovation,
including packaging and POS.
• Oversee product development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time.
• Uphold high-quality standards, ensuring new products align with customer needs and
regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to negotiate for competing resources or time and to generate consensus among
multiple priorities.
Strong procurement project management skills in FMCG, ideally in the alcohol markets
• Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Tropos, Airtable, and
Jira/Confluence, along with expertise of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to collaborate with various teams across the business to define, develop, test, and
successfully launch products.
• Degree-qualified & certified in PMP/PRINCE II project management methodologies.
