Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Interaction Designer with a strong background in Government Digital Service (GDS) delivery standards to support a major public-sector programme. The ideal candidate will have proven experience designing intuitive, accessible user journeys and a solid understanding of service design principles. AI experience is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities Design and deliver user-centred services aligned with GDS standards across discovery, alpha, beta, or live phases.
Create intuitive, accessible user journeys using the GDS Design System and GDS prototyping kit .
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including User Researchers, Product Managers, Content Designers, and Developers.
Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards .
Rapidly prototype and iterate designs based on user research insights.
Present design decisions confidently to senior stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience working to GDS standards in public-sector projects.
Strong capability with the GDS Design System and prototyping tools.
Expertise in designing accessible, user-focused services.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills within Agile teams.
Solid understanding of accessibility principles and standards.
Nice to Have Experience with HTML/CSS prototyping .
Previous experience in Agile delivery environments.
