35 hours per week

Applications are invited for aMental Health and Wellbeing Managerwithin the Student Support and Development department at the Glasgow School of Art.

The Student Support and Development department offers specialist and professional welfare advice, counselling, mental health, disability and learning support and development services to an increasingly diverse community of approximately 2,500 students.

Working in partnership with the Head of Student Support and Development, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager will ensure the effective operational delivery of counselling and mental health services. The role holder will work across the department and teams ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, enabling flexible and efficient use of resources; and promoting innovation and enhancement in service delivery in line with departmental plans and institutional priorities.

Working within a small specialist institution, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager will be required to collaborate and network effectively using a high level of relationship-building skills with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to build positive relationships, to lead and manage a small team, and successfully deliver a high-quality student-centred service.

Working closely with the Head of Student Support, the post holder will lead on policy and strategic development of the service. You will coordinate, individualised and group support to GSA students who experience acute, complex or enduring mental health difficulties that are hindering their ability to function fully in the core aspects of their studiesworking closely with, and supporting colleagues across GSA to respond to student distress and urgent / serious student situations.
