The Role

A fantastic role has become available for an Advanced Practitioner within Physiotherapy. You will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist, whilst managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge. You will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process increasing the focus on health promotion and self management.

Providing expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers within and out with the service is key to the role. You will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes.

You will have responsibility for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence based practice and quality assurance in service area in conjunction with the care group lead. and will implement research, audit and develop a service that responds to national initiatives policies and clinical governance.

What we'll need you to have

1. Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
3. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
5. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
6. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
7. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
8. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
9. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative
10. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology
12. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

13. Masters degree in specialist area
14. Member of relevant specialist interest group
15. Member of CSP
16. Multi-disciplinary work experience
17. Research and audit experience
18. Supervision skills

Fixed Term until 31/03/2026

Full time

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term post until 31/03/2026. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment.

****The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying****

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in FNC+ within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters

The working pattern for this role is: 7 day rota
