Job description: Overview We are looking for a motivated Junior Process Engineer to join our clients injection moulding team. This role is ideal for someone at the early stage of their engineering career who is keen to develop technical knowledge in plastic processing, tooling, and production optimization. You will support the setup, monitoring, and improvement of injection moulding processes to ensure efficient production and consistent product quality. Key Responsibilities Assist with setting and optimizing injection moulding machines to achieve quality and production targets Support process trials, new product introductions (NPI), and tooling validation Monitor production processes and troubleshoot moulding defects such as short shots, flash, sink marks, or warping Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve process issues Record and analyse process data to support continuous improvement initiatives Assist with cycle time optimisation and scrap reduction Ensure all processes comply with health & safety and quality standards Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation Assist with tool changes, machine start-ups, and shutdown procedures Skills & Experience Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or similar Some knowledge or experience of plastic injection moulding processes (placement, internship, or industry experience desirable) Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Good communication skills and ability to work within a team Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
