TECOSIM is expanding our dynamic team in Basildon as part of our ongoing growth. We are looking for a talented Dyno Technician to join our client's team. This role is ideal for someone who works well in a team and has experience in Dyno testing and powertrain calibration activities.
* Work as a member of a team to keep Dyno Engines updated with the correct level hardware and controls, ensuring they are operational across several test rooms.
* Arrange installation of required instrumentation with relevant workshop groups on parts to be fitted to the Dyno Engines.
* Liaise with Vehicle and Apps teams to validate Dyno/Rig kit BOMs and ensure timely ordering and delivery of parts, along with sufficient spares.
* Arrange critical parts and equipment to support Dyno Homologation Testing.
* Perform emissions certification for Power and Smoke as well as Heavy Duty Dyno Emissions.
* Carry out administrative duties, including documentation of engines, instrumentation, spare parts, exhausts/catalysts used for testing, shipping documentation, and requisitioning equipment and materials for Dyno testing at Dunton and other locations.
* Plan ahead for engines, rig kits, and instrumentation to meet mount dates.
* Work cross-functionally with D&R engineers to ensure critical dyno systems—cooling circuits, wiring looms, etc.—are understood and documented for dyno use (debug documents).
* Plan and oversee the catalyst aging program to ensure correctly aged catalysts are available for each VPSE program, including storage and documentation.
* Collaborate with Program Emissions engineers and planners.
Experience required
* Experience in Dyno testing and powertrain calibration activities.
* Ability to log data using calibration tools and update control modules as required.
Additional Information
* On-site 5 days a week.
* Rolling yearly contract (initial 6-month contract through the end of the year).
* Inside IR35.
* This position does not accept candidates requiring visas.
