Most Investor Relations roles are about delivering materials and reacting to investor questions. This one isn’t.
STOIX is working with a large, listed energy business on a senior IR hire operating as a number two in the function, sitting close to the CFO and CEO. The fundamentals are in place — your role is to sharpen the narrative, anticipate investor concerns, and ensure the equity story lands clearly and consistently across the market. If you naturally think in terms of what matters to investors and why, this will suit you well.
What you’ll actually be doing:
* Shaping and refining the equity story: ensuring clarity, consistency and relevance across all investor communications
* Working across presentations, scripts, press releases and analyst engagement to align messaging
* Supporting investor and analyst interactions, bringing a clear and commercially grounded perspective
* Partnering closely with finance, corporate finance and leadership teams to translate performance into a compelling narrative
* Anticipating investor questions and positioning the story proactively, not reactively
* Operating in a high-intensity environment, particularly around M&A, results and capital allocation decisions
You’ll thrive here if you:
* Bring strong capital markets understanding, from IR, equity research, or a closely related environment
* Can translate complex financial and strategic information into a clear, concise investor proposition
* Think commercially — able to cut through noise and focus on what actually matters
* Are comfortable operating with senior stakeholders and contributing to high-level discussions
* Have experience in large, listed or otherwise complex organisations
* Take a proactive approach — identifying issues early and shaping messaging accordingly
* Communicate clearly and confidently, without unnecessary complexity or jargon
