Job Description
3. Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and consolidated Group accounts, ensuring compliance with Charity SORP, and regulatory requirements
4. Oversee monthly financial reporting, including reconciliations, revenue recognition, and balance sheet integrity
5. Manage the external audit process and act as key liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders
6. Ensure timely and accurate submission of all regulatory returns, including Charity Commission reporting
7. Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, partial exemption, and corporation tax across the Group
8. Lead and develop the Financial Accounting team, setting objectives and supporting professional growth
9. Drive improvements to financial systems, processes, and controls, including contributing to system implementations
10. Support cashflow oversight, intercompany reconciliations, and financial governance across the organisation and subsidiaries
11. Deputise for the Head of Finance where required
The Successful Applicant
A successful Financial Accounting Manager should have:
12. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience
13. Proven experience preparing consolidated Group financial statements and statutory accounts within a multi-entity organisation
14. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including consolidations, regulatory reporting, and ideally Charity SORP
15. Experience managing external audits and working with tax (VAT, partial exemption, corporation tax) in a complex environment
16. Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams
17. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly
18. Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
19. Advanced Excel and good financial systems knowledge
20. Not-for-profit sector experience
