An outstanding secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a technically skilled, creative, and highly efficient Reprographics Technician to join its busy support team immediately. This role is essential for the daily functioning of the curriculum, ensuring that all teaching staff have high-quality resources ready for their students.
The successful candidate will manage a high-volume print room, balancing daily printing tasks with the design of school-wide publications and promotional materials.
Key Responsibilities
* High-Volume Production: Managing the daily operation of digital printers and copiers to produce thousands of booklets, exam papers, and classroom worksheets.
* Finishing Services: Providing a professional finish to all resources, including laminating, guillotining, stapling, and various types of document binding.
* Creative Design: Assisting with the layout and design of the school’s newsletter, posters for school plays, and the prospectus using desktop publishing software.
* Resource Maintenance: Carrying out basic maintenance on reprographics machinery and acting as the primary point of contact for service engineers.
* Budget & Stock: Managing the department's budget, monitoring stock levels of paper and toner, and ensuring that all departmental copying is tracked and charged correctly.
* Exam Support: Ensuring that all internal and external exam papers are printed and collated under strict confidentiality and within short deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience in a reprographics, professional print, or high-volume administrative environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ideally Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign or Photoshop).
* Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure during peak periods.
