As the department manager you will be responsible for a nursing establishment of over 50 members of staff and need to build close working relationships with the wider multiprofessional team. We require excellent communication skills to facilitate safe operational management of the services provided.
You will also be responsible for the clinical governance of your area, ensuring patient and staff safety and always striving for a high quality patient experience.
You will work closely with the other Trust endoscopy sites including the Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit team at South Bristol Community Hospital and the Endoscopy Unit at Weston General Hospital. You will also work closely with the relevant Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. The department is shared with the Queens Day Unit Theatres, who operate in hours. Second stage recovery of theatre day case patients is also provided by the Queens Day Unit Endoscopy recovery nurses, for whom you are responsible.
