Role
The University of Nottingham is seeking a motivated, experienced and highly skilled Fire Safety Advisor.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the university’s Competent Person under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
* Oversee fire safety and deliver fire safety advice to business units across the university portfolio.
* Line‑manage and supervise the university fire safety officer.
* Carry out, review and manage fire risk assessments across the university portfolio, including labs, farms, medical facilities, storage/archives, halls of residence and lecture theatres.
* Develop and manage a training portfolio for the business units of the University.
* Work collaboratively with the wider Health and Safety Department and other stakeholders.
The successful applicant will help to oversee the fire safety of the University of Nottingham’s UK campuses and operations, covering approximately 550 buildings, including a working farm.
The role is based on University Park and will require travel to all UK campuses. The position is full time (36.25 hours weekly) and permanent.
