Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Cheshire
Contract: Ongoing Contract (Inside IR35)
Shift: 4 on 4 off – Days
Pay: £40.00 per hour
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer (electrically biased) to join a busy food manufacturing site in Cheshire on an ongoing contract. Working within a highly automated production environment, you’ll play a key role in maintaining bakery and packaging equipment to ensure consistent output and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
 * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production and packaging machinery.
 * Diagnose and repair electrical faults on motors, sensors, conveyors, and control panels.
 * Support the reliability of ovens, mixers, and automated handling systems.
 * Undertake PPMs in line with site schedules, contributing to improved machine uptime.
 * Work collaboratively with production and hygiene teams to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
 * Accurately record maintenance activities and suggest improvements for long-term reliability.
Skills & Experience
 * Strong electrical fault-finding skills, ideally with experience on PLC-controlled systems.
 * Background in food manufacturing, bakery, or FMCG environments.
 * Understanding of mechanical systems such as conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
 * Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a shift team.
