Overview

Cambridgeshire Constabulary is recruiting for a Site Officer in the Estates and Facilities team. The Estates and Facilities team supports the security and maintenance of all sites force-wide, responds to emergency issues, and makes decisions in accordance with health and safety regulations. The team is small but collaborative with a “Can Do” ethos.

The role is based in Cambridge with support to outlying stations within Cambridgeshire. The Constabulary values diversity and inclusion and seeks to reflect local communities in its workforce.

What the Site Officer role involves

Your role will be within the Estates and Facilities Team of 18 people, reporting to the Estates and Facilities Technical Support Officer. You will help secure and maintain all sites force-wide, respond to emergency issues, and support health and safety compliance.


Responsibilities

* Monitor the condition of the Force’s estate
* Review and implement repairs from the Repairs Helpdesk
* Initiate and carry out repairs or arrange attendance of contractors
* Raise purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services
* Maintain accurate and systematic records
* Manage general security of the estate (barriers, gates, access-controlled doors, CCTV, alarms)
* Health and Safety administration


Qualities and Skills

* General handy-person skills (painting and decorating, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
* Understanding of buildings systems (boilers, gas, electrical, drainage, air-conditioning/air handling)
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety, fire regulations
* Basic knowledge of COSHH and Legionella regulations
* Ability to prioritise and work as part of a team

Additional information

All applicants require a full UK driving licence. Internal applicants must have completed probation. Redeployment at risk of redundancy will take priority.
