We are seeking an experienced and capable Building Manager (Surveyor) to join our team at the stunning Bolton Abbey Estate, the Yorkshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. This is a rare and exceptional opportunity to manage a diverse and historically significant property portfolio across one of the most iconic estates in the UK.
Job Type: Permanent, 39 hours per week over 5 days with rostered time for emergency call-outs.
Salary: £48,000 - £56,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
* Property & Project Management
o Manage reactive and planned maintenance, refurbishments, compliance works, and capital projects across the estate. Oversee building works for residential, commercial, and agricultural properties - both modern and historic.
o Champion sustainable building practices where possible.
* Health & Safety
o Ensure all building work meets company, legal, regulatory, and health & safety standards.
* Finance
o Prepare detailed specifications and tender documents.
o Budget management.
* Lead and support the team with a focus on performance and wellbeing.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled building professional with:
* A degree in Building Surveying or related field.
* At least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
* CIOB or RICS accreditation (or working towards).
* Strong knowledge of building regulations, CDM, and safe working practices.
* Experience working with rural estates and traditional/agricultural buildings.
* Financial acumen and project budgeting experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Excel, GIS mapping and ideally CAD.
* A full UK driving licence.
