Are you an experienced Sound Technician? Can you Plot & operate and sound for shows on Digico SD7 T. Do you enjoy providing hands-on support setting up sound for shows? Are you available to start a fixed term contract in late November until mid January?
We are looking for an experienced Sound Technician to program and operate as the No.1 mix position on Twelfth Night at the Barbican, London. You will be a senior member of the Sound Department with specialist skills, including supervisory responsibility and will participate in the management of the Department.
Reporting to the Head of Sound, your responsibilities will include (please see the job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
* To be responsible for daily sound requirements of the show.
* Operating and plotting sound for shows on Digico SD sound desks.
* Helping with fault-finding, repair, and maintenance of sound equipment.
* Complying with RSC health and safety policies.
* To supervise and be responsible for sound No.2 No.3 & No.4 positions
The right person for this role will have:
* Working knowledge and understanding of sound and communications in a theatre environment
* An understanding and familiarity of Digico SDt & Axiant software
* Good team leadership and supervisory skills with clear thought and instruction.
* Good communication and teamworking skills
This role is offered as a full-time, fixed term contract from 24 November 2025 until 18 January 2026, working 48 hours per week average, typically worked 6 out of 7 days, Monday to Sunday, based at the Barbican in London.
