Thejobholder will provide support for the delivery of the dental and trainingservice within the clinical, outreach centres and non-clinical departmentsand of the Leeds Dental Institute and the University School of Dentistry.

Asa Dental Clinical Support Worker you will be responsible for deliveringexceptional standards of safe, effective care to ensure that it consistentlymeets Trust standards. Delivering a high standard of quality service andproviding a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.
Thispost is available full-time (37.5 hours per week), or part-time/job share byagreement (working days to be confirmed).
Coreworking hours - Monday to Friday - 8.30am until 5.00pm.
Main duties of the job
Therole consists of working in the Leeds Dental Institute sterile instrumentstore and clinical departments. This role has limited patient contact.
Thepost holder will be responsible for providing quality support to dentalstudents, dental nurses and clinicians within the Leeds Dental Institute.This involves supporting the dental nurses in daily maintenance of clinicsand decontamination of clinical equipment, providing clean equipment andconsumables to support clinical activity of undergraduate and post graduatedental students and clinical staff.
Rotating,maintaining and restocking equipment / materials / instruments within thesterile instrument store and clinical areas.
Assistingthe team to collect and check used equipment returning for reprocessing atour external provider site.
Workingin the clean and dirty dispensaries in busy clinical departments dispensinginstruments, materials and equipment to staff and students.
Workingin clinical areas supporting the dental team and patients.
Completeall relevant daily documentation in compliance with relevant statutorylegislation, local codes of practice and quality control procedures.
Pleasenote: This role is very physical and successful candidates may spend most ofthe day on their feet or moving and handling heavy loads.
Experienceis not essential, just a willingness to learn, as training will be provided.

Communicateeffectively with all health care professionals and School of Dentistry,University of Leeds staff.
Assistmembers of the multidisciplinary team to prepare the clinical area at thebeginning and end of a session, before and after treatment of a patient.
Assistthe staff and students in the preparation of the departments before, duringand after treatment.
Collectequipment for clinical procedures as directed by the registered practitioner.
Safelydispose of equipment, post procedure, restock where appropriate.
Rotate,maintain and restock equipment / materials / instruments in the within thesterile instrument store and clinical areas.
Assistin safe and appropriate use and maintenance of equipment report equipment /instruments requiring repair to the appropriate person.
Maintainand stock the clinical gowns room with clean laundry and assist safe disposalof soiled linen and clinical waste from the department.
Undertakeduties on different departments or clinical areas as and when required byservice demands.
Tocomplete all relevant daily documentation in compliance with relevantstatutory legislation, local codes of practice and quality controlprocedures.
Maintaina safe working environment, reporting incidents, accidents, complaintsaccording to Trust policy and comply at all times with the Leeds TeachingHospitals NHS Trust Infection Control policies.

* NVQ Health and Social Care Level 2, Diploma in Health Level 2, or Diploma Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent health care related qualification
