The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and ambitious teacher to join our talented, hardworking and supportive team. This is a temporary appointment in the first instance, covering maternity leave until 31st July .
We are looking for an excellent practitioner with a secure and well-developed understanding of children’s learning and development from the EYFS through to the end of Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning, committed to collaboration, and eager to contribute to the continued strengthening of our high-performing team. They will have high expectations of themselves and of every child, with a relentless focus on ensuring all pupils achieve their very best.
Applicants must demonstrate a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum, alongside an excellent understanding of high-quality phonics teaching and the development of reading, writing and mathematics. They will be reflective, resilient and driven to continually improve their practice.
We are a welcoming two-form entry infant school situated in South Kirkby, Pontefract, within easy reach of Wakefield, Barnsley and Doncaster. Common Road Infant and Nursery School had a very successful Ofsted in November, which the school is extremely proud of! The school benefits from a 52-place nursery on site and a dedicated, skilled team. The successful candidate will be well supported by our experienced Teaching and Learning lead and highly trained support staff.
